1st Annual Southland Mall Summer Chess Spectacular

Where?

The tournament went very well, though the Mall's computer would not operate the WinTD and we had to do the entire event by hand. Fortunately, the"chess moms" from Oak Grove Elem., John P. Freeman, and Grahamwood were spectacular and provided all the clerical support we could have wished and more. The event ended relatively on time, despite starting forty-five minutes late. Roland Piekorz took 1st after defeating Carlos in a blitz tie-breaker game (they drew their game in the tournament's final round). Kenneth Bryant took 3d. I'll give you a complete run down later.
