Grandmaster Sam Palatnik gave a simul with all proceeds going to AmeriCares Foundation South Asia Earthquake Relief Fund,  http://www.americares.org. This helped with global relief efforts in saving lives and rebuilding communities that have been destroyed by the disaster.  The World Health Organization says over 5 million people need medical supplies, pure water, and food just to survive.  Over 3 billion dollars has been raised to help, but this is not enough for the hardest-hit areas.  It is critical that more funding continue in order for the relief to succeed.

There were 48 boards and Sam went undefeated with several draws.  Evan Mah, Latreze Townsend, Casey Hill, Carlos Sims were among the players that drew.
